Abstract
|
|
|
Congenital absence of the uterus and vagina, Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome, is a rare disorder that results from the agenesis of both mullerlian ducts or from the failure of the mullerian ducts to establish a proper communication
with
that part of the vagina formed from the urogenital sinus.
Until recently, treatment for the patient with vaginal agenesis has centered on the creation of a funtional vagina. Many ingenious procedures have been devised for its correction; some are simple, some are complicated. We feel the procedure of
choics is
the simplest, least dangerous one which will give good results in the individual patient.
Our experience, particularly with the modified Williams valvovaginoplasty technique, is given and the literatures were reviewed briefly.
